Active Lifestyle - Promoting Active Ageing Through Outdoor Recreation
The Forestry Commission launched the Active Lifestyle website in April 07 as part of their Active Woods campaign. The website is aimed at people in mid and later life and encourages them to increase their activity levels by rediscovering and enjoying the regions green spaces and woodlands.

British Heart Foundation 30 A Day Campaign
The British Heart Foundation have recently (April 07) launched a new campaign aimed predominantly at people 50-64 to encourage increased physical activity. The campaign aims to show people over 50 how easy it can be to get active and the site includes advice and tips, a free action pack and encourages people to 'take the challenge'. The BHF are also working to urge the government to take a lead in helping people over 50 to get active.

British Heart Foundation National Centre for Physical Activity and Health (BHFNC)
The BHFNC advocates and promotes physical activity and looks to provide professionals with skills, knowledge, information and support to help encourage more people to become active. Their website contains a wide range of information including sections on workplace health and older adults.

Everyday Swim Website - Amateur Swimming Association
Everyday Swim is a national project led by the Amateur Swimming Association with £3 million investment from Sport England and over £1 million from local partners. 8 Everyday Swim projects across the country form the national programme, which aims to find out 'what works' in terms of increasing participation in swimming. Each of the 8 projects focusses on different target groups and information from all of the projects can be found on the website. The project for the Eastern Region is a county wide project in Suffolk focusing on 3 key target groups including people 45 and upwards.

Free Swimming Website - Amateur Swimming Association
The ASA have set up a website to provide information and guidance to anyone looking at thinking of providing free, or reduced cost swimming initiatives to increase participation. The site contains information such as case studies of existing initiatives, pitfalls to avoid, news and resources and a checklist for setting up similar initiatives.

Health, Work, Wellbeing - Working For Health Initiative
The Health, Work, Wellbeing Initiative was launched in 2005 and is a cross-Government initiative to improve the health and wellbeing of working age people. Their website contains a wide range of useful information and resources to help support organisations, individuals and health professionals to improve the health and wellbeing of working age people. These include a range of case studies showing how some organisations have incorporated activities such as fitness programmes, workplace events, health assessments and healthy eating and nutrition to bring about positive change. There is also a resources section providing documents and tools to support people working in this area, including the recent review of the health of the working age population ‘Working For A Healthier Tomorrow’ (Dame Carol Black, 2008) and the PricewaterhouseCooper’s report ‘Building The Case For Wellness’ (2008) which considers the wider business and economic case for employers to invest in staff wellness programmes. Promoting Sport Toolkit - Sport England
The Promoting Sport Toolkit has been developed by Sport England to provide a collection of simple to use tools to assist people promoting sport and activity. The Toolkit currently contains over 650 photos which are free to use, over 50 how-to guides, a calendar of sporting events throughout the year and the latest marketing segmentation insight. There is also information on active workplaces, research done by Sport England and others into behaviour change and a range of case studies.

ACAS - Age and The Workforce A Guide For Employers
ACAS have produced a guide to help employers put the Age Discrimination Regulations (2006) into practice. The guide includes information such as developing an equality policy and action plan, recruitment and retaining good staff. It also includes various frameworks and templates to assist employers to review their practices.

Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) Age Discrimination Regulations 2006 Factsheets
The Age Discrimination Regulations (2006)which came into force in October 2006 legislate against age discrimination in employment, occupation and training.
